WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION BY SPOT GUWAHATI CHAPTER

SPOT, Guwahati chapter had observed the WORLD ENVIRNMENT DAY 2009 in GUWAHATI by organising a Bi-Cycle Rally and tree plantation. GNRC, Guwahati collaborated in the programme. In the morning, the programme was started at GNRC campus with the plantation of sapling by Shri Nipon Goswami, the renowed cine artist and Mrs J. Bora on behalf of GNRC welcomed the participating School students of the Bi-Cycle Rally.About 150 students form different schools of the city participated in the Rally. Adressing the gathering Shri Prananab Kumar Hazarika Chairman Of SPOT explained the siginificance of the day and emphasised upon the need of mitigating the global warming through reduction of co2 from the atmosphere by various means like plantation,replacing auto fuel with CNG etc.

The Rally covered atleast 15 K.M of the City passing through Ganesh guri>ZOO ROAD>GUWAHATI CLUB>G.S.ROAD.
