World Environment Day Celebration 2009 at JOYPUR near Namrup

The Central Committee of SPOT had observed the WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2009 at JOYPUR near Namrup with 2 day programme on 4th and 5th june.On 4th june Art and self composed poem with the theme of ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION, competitions were organised among the School students.On 5th june a big procession was taken out by the students carrying the message of danger from GLOBAL WARMING and CLIMATE CHANGE covering the greater Joypur area.

In the aftenoon a meeting was held in presence of students and teachers of Joypur Jatio Vidyalaya besides local citizens.Shri Ajit Chakravarty, Head Master of Joypur Higher Secondary School given away the prizes to the winners of competitions. Significantly, the prizes were consisting of One Tree sapling, Certificate and Book. Among the processionists one Boy and one Girl was selected as best disciplined cadre to offer prizes. The observance of the day was succussful in leaving an impact among the people of the localty towards Environmental protection.
